The
Adopt an Elder Project was created in the fall
of 2005. We
noticed that many of our low-income residents were unable to afford basic
personal items, dental care or anything extra to help them live with the
independence and comfort they deserve. Our first fundraiser generated over
$6000.00 and launched the program.
Donations from local merchants, health care providers and
resident family members have supported the Adopt an Elder Project
for the past two years. We are so fortunate to live in
a community that cares about the quality of life for our elderly in need.
The program is administrated through Young at Heart,
our local non-profit, 401-c3, organization
Our annual Calendar sales featuring the day to day life of
seniors at Carson
Valley Residential Care Center is our primary
fundraiser. Each year we recruit local merchants to sponsor a month and
then sell them in December and January. If you wish to purchase a
calendar, please stop by

donation of $13.00. One hundred percent of the donation is used for our
